ZiO-Podolsk has over 65-year experience in design and fabrication of boilers and other equipment for thermal power engineering.

Main production for TPP is steam boilers for 50 - 800 MW power units designed on the basis of advanced engineering knowledge. The boilers fire diverse fuel. The Plant has produced over 700 boiler units with various performances for 152 domestic and foreign power stations with total capacity 66 million kW including over 16 million kW for export.

Steam boilers produced by ZiO-Podolsk operate at power stations of Russia, Poland, Rumania, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Yugoslavia, Croatia, Macedonia, Greece, China etc. The Plant produces boiler equipment for 2 x 210 MW power units in India under joint contract with ANSALDO (Italy) for TPP-1 Neyveli expansion project. It is planning to supply the equipment to other foreign countries.

Engineering company ZIOMAR set up at ZiO-Podolsk carries out marketing, examination, engineering, erection, adjustment to provide design performances of boiler units produced by other companies in such foreign countries as Turkey (2 tower type 150 MW boilers at Tunchbilek TPP), Poland (210 t/h and 230 t/h boilers at Skawina TPP), Montenegro (boiler for 210 MW power unit at Plevlja), Serbia (Czech boilers for 300 MW power units at Kostolatz-B TPP and boiler equipment for 110 MW power units at Kolubara TPP), Bulgaria (Burgas TPP), India, Iran, Pakistan etc.

Complete supply of boiler unit additionally to the steam boiler, under the agreement with general supplier or straight with customer, could be consist of following equipment:

sootblowers;
fuel suppliers, coal mills, pulverizing plants;
draft plants and turboblowers;
air preheaters with pipelines and valves;
ash-removal equipment including electrostatic precipitators;
steel structures of boiler plant and stack;
pulverized coal and air-gas ductworks with valves and expansion joints;
power station pipelines;
electric actuators and their joints;
other power equipment.

The Plant has developed the manufacture of boiler equipment for incineration plants. ZiO-Podolsk develops, fabricates and modernizes hot water boilers burning various fuels with capacity 1 - 110 Gcal/h.

Minimum scope of automation facilities stipulated by the contract consists of embedded parts and assemblies for devices and actuators; and maximum supplies the whole set of automation equipment under own EC ZIOMAR project.

The boilers are supplied by modules to facilitate and speed up their erection. Export boilers are designed under individual specifications of the customer. The production is largely assisted with automation facilities.

ZiO-Podolsk develops the fabrication of heat-recovery steam generators for modern 2,5 - 450 MW combined-cycle plants. HRSG can be both horizontal and vertical type, with natural or forced circulation in the evaporating circuits.

Depending on customer's requirements, it can be steam boilers with built-in gas heater of district water or waste-heat boilers. The Plant also produces 0,1 - 2 MW waste-heat boilers to recover the exhaust heat of diesel power stations.

Solid or serrated spiral-fin tubes are applied in all heat-recovery steam generators.

HRSG for CCP were supplied to Severo-Zapadnaya, Dzerzhinskaya, Shakhtinskaya, Kaliningradskaya, Sochinskaya, Ivanovskaya TPP and Naftan Assosiation etc.

The Plant continuously develops and implements engineering solutions for modernization of actually operating boiler equipment to extend the service life, obtain additional power recourses with minimum expenses, improve the environmental safety and energy saving. Heat and hydraulic circuits allowing sliding pressure operation are modernized to provide maximum efficiency of the boilers. The implementation of boiler units with enhanced efficiency by original design of ZiO-Podolsk is very promising. Technical proposals are issued for 300 MW and 500 MW power units with supercritical steam parameters up to 300 atm (g) and superheat temperature up to 600 ^оC. ZiO-Podolsk produces various equipment for TPP:

low and high pressure heaters;
seal valves for pulverized coal and air-gas ductworks (round, rectangular);
articulated expansion flexible non-metal joints;
centrifugal and telescopic distributor-concentrators;
steam and water air preheaters made of spiral-fin tubes;
heating surfaces made of bare, membrane, fin tubes;
unified modules of tubular air heaters;
RAH with advanced heat exchange capabilities;
other boiler equipment.

A great attention is paid to upgrading of steam boilers by application of new engineering solutions based on various know-how including:

modernization of thermal and hydraulic circuits;
optimization and control of combustion process to reduce NOx emissions;
prevention of heating surfaces abrasion and corrosion;
large application of unified assembly design;
implementation of heating surfaces made of longitudinally and spiral-finned tubes;
application of flue gas deep cooling;
use of tubular air heaters with original staged air heating scheme.

The main aim of ZiO-Podolsk boiler engineering is to create advanced and competitive equipment for thermal power industry.
